Steven McAlney
Character Name:
Steven McAlney
Character Alignment:
Lawful Neutral
Desired Starting Element:
Fire
Desired Village:
Kotepia, mages guild.
Age:
23
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
Combat styling:
Various magics, ranging form fire projectiles to gusts of hail and thunder. He does not fight with weapons but will handle more then normal amounts of physical pain.
Character Personality:
McAlney (as he prefers to be adressed as) is a strong willed and young mage, his magic skills have proven much better then others of his young age. He does not make good impressions with people, coming off as polite but rude, maintaining proper pleasantries but not connecting to people easily. He does not have many morals to live by and prefers the company of his books to the company of his cohorts; because of early experiences he comes off as sour to anybody around him. One of his few hobbies involves pushing people to their limits before he gets to know them.
He is fairly analytical but as a result of that and the lack of friends he bears a cynical awareness of the faults in everything. He does not deem actions in any way as just or evil; he sees the obvious vileness of sin but not enough the helpfulness of virtue.
Background Info:
McAlney was raised by his priestess mother and grand-sage father. He has always felt like he was being raised in the shadow of his father. At the age of 4 he was enlisted into the royal school system, while his father was a co-founder of the mages guild. Having a father of relatively high power made many other children jealous and hating of him, and although he never made many friends, he was always at the top of his classes. He met his two arguably close friends Jay and Finn at the age of 15.
As the years went on and his magical prowess improved greatly, the royal army took notice of him and tracked his educational success. It was when he was 16 that he first received a letter of excellency from the mage's guild and was formally requested to join it. Afterwards from then he has been performing deeds of trust for at least the next seven years and will be inducted to the high circle in a ceremony once done.
RP sample:
"Rise, boy." Hendel McAlney adressed his teenage son, sleeping in. "Must I...." Steven responded, already knowing the response, already climbing out of his bed. He wondered for a moment why he was being brought out of his sleep. "Today is practice." His father's hint did not help as to what kind of practice. "What kind of practice." He almost whispered.
"Formalities, boy, you must learn to be more courteous and respectable." The man loomed over the lad. "I personally find you to be more then capable with your magic and training, but you will never be accepted into my school with your current demeanors."
"Very well, grand sage." The words ached his lips, but he knew that if he did not learn what his father taught, he would recieve only the pain of those who aren't as fortunate.
