The Gryphons

The Magestic rulers of the sky, Gryphons possess the head,talons and wings of eagles, yet have the torso and tail of a lion. These creatures may be found exclusively in the range of moutains known as the Sithis Mountains, making nests about 15 meters long, high up on the mountains, made big enough for families usualy up to 5 members. Male Gryphons grow to about 3 meters long and about 3 meters on fours, females 2 meters, and 1 and a half meters on fours. Young tend to stay with the mothers until the age of 12, then set off, with the exception of the runt, who would tend to stay with the parents, for it's inability to provide for whatever reason, should there be one at all. They are omnivores, prefering to eat plants, yet in dire need will eat meat. They are not without rival however, as they must bend will to give air space to dragons should one pass, unless aided by an entire pride. Should one encounter one of these beasts, and prove pure of heart, just in motive and capable of handling oneself in dire situation, Gryphons bless said person with an empathetic bond, making the person their Destriant. Gryphons are unable to enter cities or enclosed areas, for any kind of enclosed areas, pressing environments or imprisonments wilt it's spirit, thus killing it within hours of entering that environment. They seem to possess omniscience involving all but those destined to intertwine fates with themselves, or their Destriants. These air-bourne fighters have jaws capable of snapping any mundane-crafted material, and may fly at speeds unequaled in the sky with grace and awe-inspiring efficiancy.
